Pride Voices: CNY

Greetings and Happy Pride to you all! We feel honored to be your Grand Marshals for Pride 2026. Where have the years gone? I remember the days when we were a fairly small group of people going to City Hall for a pride rally. I remember painting the Lavender Line down Salina Street to mark the route of the parade.

Sparkle Show Out Dance Company (SODC) is a Syracuse, New York–based youth dance organization dedicated to empowering young people through movement, discipline, creativity, and community.

Robin Latham is the Treasurer for CNY Pride. Everyone knows her real title is the heart of this organization. You won’t find a CNY Pride event where she isn't the first one there setting up a table, ready to greet a stranger or help a friend.

SAGE Upstate stands as a beacon of empowerment and community for older LGBTQIA+ adults across Central New York, providing a vital, affirming space that combats isolation through health programs, education, and social activities.

When Mark Miller passed away in December, 2025, people from all parts of his life shared favorite memories of him. Three main themes quickly became apparent: commitment, connection, and fabulousness.

For over 15 years, Bonnie Strunk has spearheaded the LGBTQ Pride booth at the Great New York State Fair transforming it into a vital hub for educational resources and community networking.
