Syracuse Progress First Light Flag Raising

​Pride Month in CNY has officially begun and we could not have asked for a better start. The Progress First Light Pride Flag now flies over Syracuse City Hall. A heartfelt thank you to Assemblyman William Magnarelli, the Syracuse Gay and Lesbian Chorus, our speakers, and to all that made this possible and joined in the festivities.

 

The Progress First Light hybrid flag, unique to Syracuse and designed by Syracuse native Eric Hart, symbolizes “Dawn’s first light over Syracuse” and reflects the land, people, and spirit of the region. Its elements honor the Six Nations of the Haudenosaunee, the area's geography, and local history, with colors representing restoration, perseverance, industriousness, and peace.
